Imagine those sprinklers watering those happy weeds every other day for 20 years. Probably the dumbest thing you've seen in a while.
Hello, my name is John Christiansen, and I had to create this website to bring the watering issues within the Evermoor Association Master Board to light. Hopefully you will join our cause and reduce the wasteful watering of weeds by contacting your association board member to reduce the water usage and the money going down the drain. Or in this case, into a pond.
Evermoor is a neighborhood association in Rosemount MN consisting of hundreds of single family homes and townhomes.
Its a beautiful neighborhood. Unfortunately those on the Master Board forgot who they are supposed to represent.
I went for a walk in our neighborhood at the end of June. After a good laugh at what I witnessed, I emailed the Association to point out 2 things.
1) Why on earth are we watering all the weeds.
2) Why are we watering in violation of the city watering restrictions. Odd Even days based on the house address. Update to item 2. This issue has been explained by the city since the sensor does work, it will then water 24 hours later, rather than skip a watering. 9/30. This zone is still being watered far too often according to city guidelines.

Here was their response from June 25th 2021
John,
Thank you for sending these pictures.
I see why you have those concerns, too.
BoardMember1 and BoardMember2, Let's see what we can do to address John's concerns, and if we can't do anything about it provide the reason why.
Thank you again John for following up on the situation.
Be well,
I particularly like the quote. "and if we can't do anything about it provide the reason why."
As if changing the sprinkler heads were somehow difficult or impossible. Seriously? Those weeds are getting pummeled by those sprinklers. It is obvious the sprinklers need to be changed.
Every homeowner knows how to change sprinkler heads. Its not that hard. The Boards response was simply a reaction to try and get me to forget it. They're trying to slow-play it and hope that I go away.
So I sent them another email last night. 6 weeks later mind you. 8-6-2021.
Hi BoardMemeber3, it appears BM1 and BM2 really don't care about the ridiculous images above or the fact that those sprinklers were on again tonight (Even Day) and that's the odd side of the road clearly violating city ordinance.
Awesome to see that the Board is accountable to no one. I will head down to the city on Monday and explain to them that I pointed this out to you guys 6 weeks ago. That was plenty of time to fix the problem.
The part where you say "and if we can't do anything about it provide the reason why." is actually quite laughable. Obviously no reason was provided.
If you can water on the wrong day of the week, you can obviously change it to the right day of the week.
Oh well back to my book "Do as I say, not as I do."
Update 9/30. Odd/Even issue has been explained. No other issues such as watering weeds or over watering have been resolved though.
Here was their response.
John,
Thank you for your email and any patience you might have left.
You must be very frustrated by the situation. Please let all copied know what the city tells you.
BM1, Is there an answer to this situation? If the answer is that what’s happening is not against any law or rule, and that it cannot be changed or isn’t cost effective to change it, then knowing that might help a little. If the city says it’s a problem we’ll need to come up with a solution.
A reply would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Be well,
I'm not holding my breath the city will enforce the watering ban, and I'm not holding my breath the association will do anything.
Update 9/30. Odd even issue has been explained, not by the board mind you but by the city. Which I had to find.
The much more important issue of Watering weeds and over watering still have not even been addressed.
